Age conversion guide
Last reviewed: August 2026 ยท By Age in Days editorial desk
Weeks lived are total calendar days divided by seven, with a remaining-day count.
This is an exact conversion once the calendar-day total is known. It is not the same thing as counting named calendar weeks on a wall calendar.
Worked example
If an age result is 10,000 days, divide by seven: 1,428 completed weeks with four days remaining. The age calculator can show this directly because it first calculates the date-based total, including leap days, then divides by seven.
Calendar interpretation
A week is always seven days, but months are not four weeks and years are not 52 exact weeks. A 365-day common year is 52 weeks plus one day; a 366-day leap year is 52 weeks plus two days. For this reason, do not convert an age in years to weeks by multiplying the displayed years alone.
Edge cases
Same-date age is zero complete weeks and zero remaining days. A future birth date is rejected for age tools. Daylight-saving changes do not alter calendar-day totals because the calculation does not use local elapsed clock hours.
Run the age on a specific date calculator, see how many days are in a year, and review the methodology for the local calendar-date rule.
